if you were an animal what would you be?
i would be a cat but because you are not allowing me to say that... a little yellow bird. when i was a kid i had a bird named yellow. there's those lines in we are nowhere and it's now and the nmh song little birds that doesn't mention yellow but birds all the same. i want to fly an irrational amount and i pick at my food like birds do sometimes.

how do YOU feel about younger bloggers?

i don't know. i personally find it a little weird when they wear clothes that don't fit them BUT i was 13 only three years ago and definitely still involved with the internet so i can't judge.

describe what summer 09 will bring~ and what it means to you.

summer 09 will bring a tan, paychecks, hopefully partying, swimming in the ocean with german, naps in the sun, white denim short shorts, mountain lake and gator rides, smoothies, asshole tourists and mini donuts, ginseng and warm sun blowing hair across my face. photo shoots and new mocassins and freedom. it is my last school summer which freaks me the fuck out but i think it will be very fun.

a picture is worth a thousand words, how many words are on your wall, and what does it say?

i have lots of pictures of teen vogue, nylon, z!nk, juxtapoz, a bob dylan poster, an alphonse mucha poster, quotes i wrote down from my favourite books, songs, poems, and pictures from two seperate disposable cameras. theres the picture of our feet that sums up everything about last summer; restlessness sunshine dust and happiness. theres the picture of SC, CB and i under the wish tree at uvic from the field trip that was easily the most happiness i've ever had crammed into two or three days and a picture of me on the ferry to vancity in the summertime. theres a drawing by brain twin, a note from a friend, photobooth picture strips, skytrain passes, and a salvador dali swans reflecting elephants poster. there is also a poster from the walls of troy that i was going to get signed by everybody but never got the chance. the walls of my room are the maps of my brain, except for the absence of math.

What most excites you about spring coming?

it's closer to summer which means freedom. which means fun. which means possible mistakes but inevitable new memories. i like memories. i'm also excited about having bare legs. YEE.

What do you hope people get from our blog?

our perspectives, a different look on things, inspiration, anything. take from it what you want, i just want you to get something from our constant babble.

If you could listen to one musical artist/group for the rest of your life, who would it be?

GUH. impossible to answer. i suppose conor oberst because i love him unconditionally. even when he's screaming and crying and bitching and swearing (actually that's when i love him most).

What do you think about all the pre-teen fashion bloggers (like, under 14)?

they're a lot more mature than i was at 12-13, i'll give them that much. no, lol i love tavi and the stylish wanderer, and all the others. when i was that age all i could think about was OMG WT (my then major crush).

Last question... so it is a hard one. What is one material object in your life that you cherish above all others (laptop, cats and ipods not included)?

my rings, or one certain one that my dad gave me. my seagull necklace that was my grandfather's. my book collection is also really important to me.

what hurts you to think about?
growing old. not being excited about anything. people i love being sad, stray cats without any homes, and the thought of my niece experiencing the bad things in life.

latest obsession?
the microphones - my roots are strong and deep, bright eyes - southern state, my lark & wolff mens button up and thinking about sunshine warmth. i'm like a week away from a spring clothes post.

favorite blogs?
silver wings, childhood flames, lulu and your mom and stockholm street style.

color and why:
pale yellow because it reminds me of everything good about my childhood. dark green because it looks natural and still classy. grey because it is neither here nor there.

what's on your mind right now?

the weird lump in my ear lobe, the actual colour of my cat's fur, how badly i want to see conor oberst live and wondering what happens next in the bell jar.

what inspires you?
anything. feeling sad, feeling happy. my cat, my friends, you (frankly i don't count you as a friend), the way the sun sets, the way the moon falls. the ripple of a wave on the ocean. the pop of a bubble in slow motion. the cello and violin, piano too. watching grey's anatomy. people on the street. people walking their dogs. music. people in general, i want to know brains. moon light. kids and how they aren't afraid of anything. camille, betsey, dapper kid, i can't even begin to tell you how excited i am when i see they've posted. books, literature, poems, letters, photography i see anywhere. our acting teacher. street style, old women. is that enough?

when are you happiest?
when i give people goosebumps and can make them smile. when i figure out a tough math problem. when my cat is affectionate, when i can hear bright eyes, modest mouse, radiohead, belle and sebastian, jason pierce/spiritualized/spaceman 3, tv on the radio (to name a few). rpattz/twilight gif parties on ontd (i'm not even joking). biology class last semester. summer time, when i don't have to worry about ridiculous amounts of history and law homework. i like this.

jane eyre by charlotte bronte because i have reread it every year since i was about 13 and its better every time.

in the aeroplane over the sea by kim cooper because i am pathetic and its probably the only non-fiction book that will ever make me cry and because of julian koster's quote at the end of it:

what makes you happy more than anything?

being on stage or creating things for the stage in the drama room.

what is your favorite memory of me?

whenever we get hysterical and laugh about things, like twilight or the interpretive dance walker. every car ride we had with padraic (except for the one coming back from the middle school after van, that was weird), and all the summer nights and how patient you were with me at OR's party.

in your opinion what is style~?

wearing whatever you want and making it look good in your own opinion and ngaf if people think it is trendy/ugly/expensive/hipster/trashy.

why blogging?
because i think a lot and can type faster than i can write, i can't talk about fashion to very many people, i am an exhibinionst and someday i will wake up and i won't be 16 years old and i want to remember what it's like. and because it is fun.

hey guys, airy had the fabulous idea of interviewing eachother to spice things up around here, so here is my part one of three of interviewing her. enjoy :)

what is your favourite time of day to take pictures and why?
arienette: hm.. that's really hard to answer because in the mornings everything is so clean and calm, along with the sunrise. midday is nice because if it's rainy or sunny you can capture it because it's the brightest. and then there's the late night party pictures yo.

what is the last thing you think about before you fall asleep?

arienette: usually the day that just happened. if something's bothering me, like a fight with someone or something straight up amazing happened i'll think about it and analyze it (if i'm in a fight i'll think about how to make it better). sometimes i'll go through my day and think about what would have happened if i had done things differently. or if its been a bad day i'll tell myself things will get better. i'm up late thinking a lot.

what is your favourite memory with me?

arienette: oh god. one of my favorites is when we lost padraic in vancouver and just that whole time there. seriously one of the highlights of my summer. but really i just love it when we hang out and don't really have to say anything. twilight was fun too.. or not lol.

if you could eliminate anything, or any person from your life, who or what would it be?

arienette: i think you know the certain people who i would elimiate from my life, but fuck you for this breezy. this is too hard of a question.

where do you want to be 5 years from now?

arienette: ideally i would be in med school, done pre-med. i really want to be in victoria actually. just being out of where we live would make me happy.

simple twist of fate

my camera is FINALLY back!! i'm so happy :) among getting my beloved snappy back i also got these cute little hair clips from a vintage shop, and a grey aa tri-blend raglen (i've got one in evergreen). to prepare for tomorrow i've gotta go and study about passchendaele, ypres, the sommes.. etc. hope all your weekends were lovely!! xx -a
